Mostly just a practice piece spurred by the current DMAP event over at poke-fan club. Didn't really turn out as I would have liked but I think its still decent enough to post.

Dragonite ftw!!! Nice piece of work even if it is just practice (want to see the non-practice for the best pokemon in pokemon games ever ^^!)

I know I just keep doing :+fav: and run throughout your gallery, but I just can't help it: the detail and work put into every one of your pieces is too addicting! I love your work!

I love this art. It's lovely.

However, a thousand and one people mistake the chests animals or pokemon based of lizards and birds to be like human chest. The muscles do not develop that way though. Check out their anatomy (just google search) and see. I have a parrot and study animals and biomechanics, by the way. So I'm not trying to talk from my butt, it's just important to me.

Since parrots may pluck themselves in captivity, if you google search naked parrot, you can get a very good idea of attachment. They are not attached to the shoulders though. Birds wings attach inside with muscle to the keel bone.

Sorry to rant,
Just thought you should know,

Thank you, I do agree that the anatomy is too human like (and overall not great- this image is also over a year old), though that was partially intentional since dragonite is somewhat humanoid in form, though it was overdone here.

I am aware of the the actual anatomy of birds/lizards what not (i've actually studied it somewhat at a university level for biology classes and have done my own independent study), most of the issue comes from trying to apply it to a fantasy creature in novel situations/pose/angle and trying to combine multiple different species with weird anatomy (such as dual front limbs). This attempt not being perfectly successful.

Wow. Someone finally succeeded in making a realistic Dragonite!I've never seen that before! (she says somewhat sarcastically) It's still way awesome though.

I've always thought dragonite's original design is a little silly but you've made it look so much more awesome.
